MV Agusta Stand
Agency: Blue Hedgehog Display
Client: MV Agusta
Event Name: Motorcycle Live 2019 at NEC Birmingham, UK
Agency Website: www.blue-hedgehog.com
Create a stylish, open and elegant stand showcasing the MV Agusta brand of Motorcycles plus clothing ranges. Basically a bigger version of our previous stand to display 12 motorcycles – 4 mounted on plinths. Storeroom and private meeting room. Replicate the MV store styling but suitable for an exhibition environment so that it can be easily stored and used for future shows.
Lighting was key – with used our TL-23 Truss with 20 x 100w Warm LED floods to create an inviting look, plus by hanging the rig on bridles we saved the client three wires and hoist charges.
Flooring – we laid 8mm Piedmont Oak laminate onto 40mm Expo floors ECO platform base, all bikes were pre-wired for low voltage power units and LED Bike Specification Display plinths.
The client like our ‘Aluvision arch’ that we had used on their last stand, but wanted a larger store plus a private meeting room, whilst still retaining all of the February 2019 fabric show graphics. This was done using our Aluvision stock, adding in a sliding door to the design for easy storeroom access and adding hard di-bond panels to the Private meeting room area along with a full length vision panel (to suit expo regulations). Plus we incorporate two bespoke slat wall display units (on black Aluvision frames) to extend the length of the main structure by 1m and the width by additional metre.
We received approval to proceed on the 8th October, 1st day of build was 12th November giving us only 4 weeks to create all the new bespoke elements: Front Counter Unit, Wall display units (x2), Freestanding Gondola Clothing Display Units (x2), Low bike plinths (x2), high bike plinths (x2) plus create the LED Edge lit Bike Specification Units (x12) – together with sourcing and purchasing floor laminate, extra/new fabric wall graphics (from Aluvista), NEW last minute range lightbox graphic (from Aluvista) plus general items like creating video’s from MV supplied materials, uploading to the three screens, checking etc…
Difficult build – having only four days. Day 1 (4am til 6pm) – travel, unload, build, wire and fly lighting rig (6×11.5m) whilst laying out all floor wiring. Then unload whilst Expo Floors laid platform. Then laid laminate floor – almost finished on Day 1, couple of hours behind schedule.
Day 2 (8am til 6pm) – finished floor and disabled access ramp. Main vehicle unloaded and built main structure.
Day 3 (8am til 8pm) – pressed on with build, assembled CNC cut bespoke elements onto Custom frames and started to make good. All secondary wiring, lighting in Main structure complete including roof down lights, graphics and screens now fitted. Had to negotiate with venue for two extra hours (8pm finished) due to an issue with refitting an existing fabric wall graphic.
Day 4 (8am til 8pm on-site , plus return travel) Fixed graphic issue, client arrived (UK Sales Manager and a dealer) so helped off load, position 12 bikes, wire in and bolt onto display stands. Walked client around stand, agreed snagging list and sorted out. Eventually ran out of time – little things, cleaning, touch up and application of perspex logo’s to all custom items. GJ stayed over additional night.
Day 5 (6.30am til 7pm) – gained site access, finished snagging list, hand over to client circa 8am and spent an hour cleaning and helping polish bikes until show opened. After opening sorted out storeroom for customer to create space and tidy up their packaging. Got coffee machine operational so they could greet their dealers with coffee. Took photo’s and rested prior to leaving at 3pm to drive home.
