The Brief

Petrofac was looking for a design agency to create a new era of exhibition stands forming part of their East Exhibition Programme.

Their key aims in their exhibition participation were:
• A clean, bright contemporary and modular stand
• A clever use of technology to create engaging interactions and enhance their service offerings
• Maximise visibility and engagement

The Solution

The central idea of the design was to create a 3D representation of Petrofac’s key brand feature – their ‘Spotlight’. The strong angular, architectural form not only reflected their graphical language but was a subtle nod to Petrofac’s engineering feats throughout their 37-year track record.

A key part of the design was to create a design that was highly modular and easy to re-configure across their Eastern Hemisphere region regardless of venue restrictions and regulations. Scalability was built into the design with:

• All stand element configuration to be easily modified
• Modular demo areas to allow Petrofac to easily change the focus of shows depending on geography and regional market
• Voile graphic walls – light, high impact, cost-effective alternative to walling which is easy to transport and install

The Activation

ADIPEC is the ideal platform to create new business opportunities, strengthen existing relationships and network across the entire energy sector. With this in mind, we worked collaboratively with Petrofac to ensure every element of the stand drew visitors to the stand and ensured Petrofac’s services were top of mind.

Striking voile graphics and high-level branding ensured visitors knew where Petrofac was but that is only half the battle, we needed people to stay on the stand and engage. This was achieved threefold: interactive demos, engaging and relevant scheduled presentations from Petrofac Engineers, and a dynamic showreel. With this three-pronged approach, every element of the stand had a role: they highlighted to the 155,00+ visitors that Petrofac’s entrepreneurial spirit and engineering expertise lie at the heart of their unique service offering. Two sides of a compelling story that when combined create a dynamic company with innovation at its core.

To seal the deal, two private meeting rooms were placed to the back of the stand to ensure a level of quiet and calm away from the chaotic show floor. With one meeting room furnished in a board room style and the other lounge-style we ensured Petrofac was prepared for all types of meetings and accommodate a multitude of cultures.

As an extension of Petrofac HQ, high-quality finishes throughout the stand were necessary to reflect Petrofac’s position as the leading service provider in the oil, gas and renewable energy industry.

The Results

The result was an inviting contemporary stand with clever use of technology to create engaging interactions and enhanced visitors understanding of Petrofac’s broad service offerings. Not only was this step change positively received by our Client, the design has since been adopted across four regions and six shows.
