ZON fruit & vegetables is the international sales organization of the Cooperative Growers Association ZON, founded in 1915 and located at Fresh Park Venlo. In 2015 the 100th anniversary was celebrated and the predicate Royal was awarded by HRH Willem-Alexander. After a decade of loyal service, it was time to say goodbye to the old booth. For the participation at the annual Fruit Logistica in Berlin, a new booth design was needed. The new concept should focus more on products, employees and consumers.
The design is inspired by the look and feel of well-known market halls like Mercado de San Miguel in Madrid and De Markthal in Rotterdam. The basic elements are a mix of wood, aluminum and colorful visuals. Their product is the most important and presented in an original way to the visitor. To emphasize the concept an aerial photograph of a market place is printed on carpet.
For this project we have reused 90% of their materials from previous stands. The aluminum frames which we use for the walls are already 15 years old! We have custom-made all the wooden elements in parts, so it can be used for the smaller and larger stands. The stand is fully prepared in our warehouse (as you can see in the video).
Royal ZON is still just as proud of their stand as they were 5 years ago, when they first promoted this new concept in their ZON magazine! Even though the stand is already 5 years old, it still is the apple to their eyes and the many visitors of the Fruit Logistica . And it was well worth the investment! Only a few minor adjustments were made last year to create a higher visability of the fruit & vegetables they auction. (new fridge with LED panel, shelves for products and decorations, lay-out for fruit & vegetables).
So if they want, they can use this stand for at least another 5 years. A perfect example of; maximum return on investment, use of environmental friendly re-usable materials and maximum flexibility in different set-ups.
